Loving our Neighbor in a Tangible Way
Five Costa Mesa Churches work together to help an elderly woman (Judith) bring her front yard up to the city’s code and avoid a citation. After receiving a phone call from the Costa Mesa Police Department’s Code Enforcement, Trellis was able to facilitate a volunteer effort to help a woman in her time of need.

On Sunday, October 27, 2019 the youth group from Christ Lutheran Church, along with their parents took time out of their day to till the soil, pull weeds, prune trees, rake leaves and do whatever was necessary to get the job done. In addition to the work at hand, many of the youth took the time to visit with Judith while she sat in her front yard peeling a fresh picked pomegranate from her tree.

In addition to Christ Lutheran, volunteers included Joe, from Palm Harvest Church as Project Leader, Ralph from The Crossing Church as photographer, Lee from First United Methodist, who was able to get us a large dumpster at no cost and one volunteer from New Song Worship Center.

This was a wonderful example of loving our neighbor in a tangible way and working in unity as the Body of Christ. We truly are better together!
How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity! Psalm 133:1
